It was almost 5 years ago when I did my first ever show in Appleton WI. It was an open mic at a comedy club that isn't around anymore. I did good enough where I qualified for their open mic competition which would pit the top open mic comedians against each other.

The final was in August of that year in front of a packed house thanks to the friends and family that were supporting the other competitors. I had about 5 people supporting me, so in a contest where audience approval was going to be the determining factor I already went in knowing the deck was stacked against me.

I was due up 6th in the show which is the best spot to be in a comedy show where there are 10 other competitors. It's enough people where the audience is warmed up and it's not too late in the show where people are starting to get tired. Also, there have been enough people who have gone through the show that you know what the audience will like. I went up and had one of my best sets up to that point in my young career. I had won over the crowd and eventually the competition.

The next day I received a message from the owner of the  Skyline Comedy Cafe the club across town in Appleton. The message asked if I wanted to work at a club that was great at grooming young talent. I immediately jumped to the opportunity. Two weeks later I was performing my first guest set at Skyline. From that moment I haven't looked back.

It was true, I became a better comedian. The room truly did groom me. It taught me how Comedy Club audiences acted compared to bar shows. I got to work with some of the best comedians in the industry who gave me priceless advice. Not only did I learn a lot about stand-up comedy I learned a lot about the comedy business.

So now almost 5 years since my Skyline Comedy Cafe debut I have the great honor of Co-Headlining the Skyline Comedy Cafe with my good friend John Egan. The promo code TUCKER615 can get you 2 for 1 General Admission Seats for the shows on Friday June 5th and Saturday June 6th. This is a code that will actually work. Usually I joke that if you use the code "Tucker Diedrich" at the door you receive one free confused look from the doorman. This isn't the case. Use the code at

If you've never been to the Skyline Comedy Cafe this is a great opportunity to attend a show at one of the top clubs in the country. It is going to be a great weekend and a lot of fun so if you can make it that'd be super cool.
